Our Programs
In the Olympic-sport of fencing, nothing is more important for athletes than choosing the right coach and club at the outset. Novice fencers choose one of the three weapons that comprise the explosive modern sport. Foil is known for its precise, small movements using the tip of the blade to score points on your opponent’s torso and back. Saber is a slashing weapon derived from the days of cavalry charges. The tip and blade can be used to score on the entire upper body including arms and head. And epee owes its heritage to 17th and 18th century dueling, and as such your opponent’s entire body is a target using the tip of your blade to score a touch. New England Blades offers instruction in all three weapons.
